POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for ensuring the proper treatment of financial activity within the organization. Manage accurate cost analysis/reporting and provide insight to support informed decisions. This includes monitoring transactions associated with purchasing, production, inventory, and distribution. This role provides meaningful input into various aspects of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc analysis and reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor project costs and expenses to ensure alignment with estimates.
- Analyze variances between estimated and actual costs, investigating discrepancies and proposing corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed cost records and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Allocate expenses accurately to specific tasks, departments, or cost centers.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and margin calculation.
- Maintain reports and summaries for stakeholders, offering insights into cost trends and potential risks.
- Present financial data to highlight key performance indicators and improvement areas.
- Analyze project estimates, considering various cost factors and resource requirements.
- Monitor performance throughout the project lifecycle and communicate cost/margin variances to stakeholders.
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders to capture and utilize accurate cost data.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making and identify scope discrepancies.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance cost accounting processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices and tools to streamline cost tracking and reporting procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline required or equivalent work experience.
- Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in cost accounting with degree or three (3) to five (5) years experience with no degree.
- CMA/CPA certifications are a plus
- Experience in Concur and SAP a plus, but not required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost allocation methodologies, and financial analysis techniques.

- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Able to perform a variety of tasks and work under general supervision.
- Ability to partner with on cross-functional teams to support business operations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced level in Excel
