Scope:
The Recruiter will support Heartland Food Products Group’s rapid growth by collaborating with Hiring Managers to provide full cycle recruiting support to meet the needs of the organization in a timely manner. They will be responsible for candidate sourcing, phone screens, assessments, onsite interviews and assisting with on-boarding. The position is on-site at our Indianapolis, Indiana location, no remote or hybrid options available.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Management of open requisitions as assigned
- Develop strong relationships with hiring managers, working closely with them to maximize effectiveness of the recruiting process
- Proactively build relationships with potential candidates, creating a robust pipeline of highly qualified candidates for current and future needs
- Source and screen qualified candidates, leverage a variety of sources to include internet job boards, employee referrals, internet search engines, resume mining techniques, social media, job fairs and associations
- Schedule and conduct phone screens and onsite interviews
- Administer pre-employment assessments
- Act as the public face during recruitment process to ensure positive candidate experience from sourcing through onboarding
- Assist with the on-boarding process and administrative functions related to HR and recruiting functions as needed
- Attend recruiting events as necessary
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is required
- A minimum of 3 years of recruiting experience, high-volume food manufacturing, distribution and multi-site organization preferred
- Experience working in a food production environment highly preferred
- Ability to attend off-site career fairs and represent company in a professional demeanor
- Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake), ATS knowledge preferably ADP
- Strong foundation and understanding of direct candidate sourcing, with proven ability to develop and implement effective sourcing strategies
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, excellent collaboration and relationship building skills
- Strong work ethic demonstrated by sense of urgency, flexibility and accuracy
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
- Technically savvy with demonstrated knowledge of best practices with social media, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time
- Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
- Must possess visual acuity to document company records
- Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center
- Lifting up to 40 pounds
