The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for cultivating and continuing a culture of seedmanship across all aspects of seeds sold by Beck’s Hybrids fostering confidence in quality and reliability in supply.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Quality Assurance team in all aspects of seed quality.
  • Work with production and processing teams on all aspects of seed quality from the selection of products, field production, processing and treating to finished units.
  • Lead communication efforts in cultivating a positive and accurate story in regards to quality and reliability products across the value chain.
  • Spend time in the sales territory observing the quality and appearance of Beck’s seed at dealer and distribution sites. (Minimums to be determined as the role progresses)
  • Spend time traveling to see growers during planting and harvest as well as the growing season. (Minimums to be determined as the role progresses)
  • Bring new ideas for quality improvement to the company.
  • Consult alongside each site and group within the Processing Department on their Quality Management System programs, particularly with Preventative Actions and areas of improvement.
  • Manage and respond to all Customer Challenge reports in a timely manner.
  • Whatever other duties that may be required by Beck’s Hybrids

 

Job Requirements

Education and training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy

Technical Knowledge

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Good attitude towards work
  • Good working knowledge of computers and software used in data analysis and communication such as inventory tracking software
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Strong knowledge of field agronomy

Travel & Hours of Work:

  • Overnight travel may be required based on project needs at Beck’s regional locations and may vary in duration of time.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in the seed industry with some of that time spent in field agronomy.
