The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for diligently taking an active role in the quality of all seed products sold by Beck’s Hybrids.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Quality Assurance team in all aspects of seed quality.
  • Oversee monitoring of all quality testing reports on all seed products.
  • Oversee monitoring of all tagging and labeling for accuracy.
  • Oversee the creation and updating of quality documents in bagging and refuge-in-a-bag manuals.
  • Work with location managers to ensure training is occurring for all employees during pre-season, any new procedures or procedure changes in-season or post-season as needed.
  • Monitor quality and appearance of all seed products at the plant level and in the warehouse after packaging is complete.
  • Assign or participate in probing packaged products in the warehouse for quality testing.
  • Perform see quality checks where needed.
  • Oversee monitoring of quality reports to help the Soybean / Wheat Grower Manager evaluate grower performance.
  • Spend time out in the sales territory observing the quality and appearance of Beck’s seed at the contract and remote processing sites.
  • Spend time traveling to see growers during planting and harvest as well as the growing season.
  • Bring new ideas of quality improvement to the Quality Assurance team.
  • Work with each site and group within the Processing Department on their Quality Management System programs, particularly with Preventative Actions and areas of improvement.
  • Manage and respond to all Customer Challenge reports.
  • Continue agricultural education through workshops and both on-site and off-site training.

 

Job Requirements

Education and training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy

Technical Knowledge

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Good attitude towards work
  • Good working knowledge of computers and software used in data analysis and communication such as inventory tracking software
  • Ability to lead a team

Travel & Hours of Work:

  • Overnight travel may be required based on project needs at Beck’s regional locations and may vary in duration of time.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in the seed industry.
