Position Summary

The IT Security Intern will have the opportunity to work on cybersecurity projects, gain hands-on experience in implementing and configuring security tools, and collaborate with cybersecurity and technology professionals as we secure the business and build a best-in-class cybersecurity program.

 

What to expect

In this 12 week internship you will have an opportunity to interact with many different areas of the business and work with IT leaders and professionals to develop and review security metrics to measure the effectiveness of our program, contribute to incident response activities, help analyze and mitigate security incidents, engage in user education initiatives, promoting cybersecurity awareness and best practices among employees, and many other skill developing activities.

 

What YOU will do:

  • You will gain hands-on experience by: assisting in identity and access management projects, supporting efforts to secure endpoints as well as monitor endpoint compliance and ensuring security tooling is deployed on endpoints, working with email security products to protect the organization against phishing and other email threats, creating and updating cybersecurity documentation, and much more.
  • You will develop relationships throughout the organization with multiple resource partners, cohorts, and leaders. Building relationships is the core of what we do!
  • Engage in a variety of impactful projects critical to the business. This will test your project management skills!
  • Develop new and creative solutions to meet company and departmental goals. Innovation is what will make you stand out!

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Being a rising Junior/Senior is preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft security products such as Intune and Defender are a plus.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts.
  • Knowledge of technology infrastructure and networking.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for learning and adapting to new challenges.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understand basic cybersecurity concepts.
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Ability to work required hours
  • Must have valid driver’s license and meet MVR requirements
