Overview

Summary:

The Division Director of Technology and Innovation will lead and manage the technology and innovation strategy for the organization’s designated division (agronomy, energy, grain & feed, or corporate departments). This role is responsible for driving the adoption of emerging technologies, fostering innovation, and ensuring that technological initiatives align with business goals and enhance the division’s competitive advantage. The director will oversee a team of technology professionals and work closely with leadership to execute innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, drive growth, and enhance customer experience.

 

Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future, without company sponsorship.

 

Must be about to work onsite in the corporate office in Indianapolis, Indiana. (This role is not hybrid or remote).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technology Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology and innovation strategy for the division, ensuring alignment with the broader company vision and objectives. Identify new technologies and digital innovations that will support the division’s growth and operational efficiency.
  • Innovation Management: Foster a culture of innovation by identifying opportunities for new technology solutions, process improvements, and disruptive innovations. Champion the implementation of cutting-edge technologies within the assigned division.
  • Technology Integration: Support IT integrations of new technologies with existing systems and processes. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure that technology is seamlessly embedded into daily operations and aligned with division-specific goals.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and lead a high-performing team of technology experts, trainers, and innovators. Promote continuous learning, professional growth, and collaboration within the team to foster creativity and innovation.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Engage with cross-functional teams, including marketing, safety, and finance, to identify and implement technology solutions that address business challenges. Act as a bridge between technology and business leaders to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of technology initiatives. Regularly assess and report on progress to senior leadership, ensuring that technological advancements deliver measurable value.
  • Customer-Centric Innovation: Work with customer-facing departments (e.g., marketing) to develop digital products or services that improve customer experience and engagement. Ensure that technology innovations are aligned with customer needs and deliver value to the end-user.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, partners, and technology providers. Evaluate new technologies and tools from third-party vendors that can contribute to the division’s goals and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Digital Transformation: Lead efforts to drive digital transformation within the division by modernizing legacy systems, introducing automation, and improving data-driven decision-making.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions.

 

Education & Qualifications:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 10+ years of experience in technology management, innovation, or digital transformation roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position overseeing technology teams and initiatives.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Certifications in technology management, project management, or specific technologies are desirable.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the relevant industry (e.g., Ag Retail, Energy, Grain/Feed, Department Capabilities) to understand specific business needs and technological challenges is preferred.
  • Collaboration: Cross-functional and collaborative work environment, engaging with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to drive innovation and technology adoption.
