Role Summary

The Web Application Firewall Engineer is responsible for protecting Corteva’s applications from external threats by designing, building, configuring, and monitoring our web application firewalls.  The candidate will have extensive knowledge in Cloud WAF technologies (Azure, Imperva), network infrastructure, web facing services, and general cyber security principles.

In the role, you will work alongside Corteva’s networking, DevSecOps, and Security Operations Center teams to ensure that malicious traffic is planned for, identified, and responded to effectively.  You will assist with threat models, architecture reviews, and the change management process to stay abreast of the changing threat landscape and offer guidance on how to best configure our application threat monitoring efforts.

This role can accommodate a flexible work arrangement where you may work multiple days a week from home.

Responsibilities:
How will you help us grow? 

  • Responsible for the overall strategy and operation of WAF environment
  • Develop a process to automate the inclusion of new applications to our WAF environment
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure proper alerting and blocking is in place
  • Evaluate network and application activity and ensure that proper WAF rules are in place
  • Provide technical and executive level reports to stakeholders on the performance of the company’s WAFs
  • Make recommendations to engineering and network teams on ways to improve the performance and security of Corteva’s applications

Qualifications

Requirements:
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

  • Strong understanding of the changing web and mobile application threat landscape
  • Experience securing enterprise applications using common web application technologies
  • Expert level understanding of cloud WAF technologies (Azure, Imperva, AWS)
  • Experience with SIEM integration and writing incident response playbooks
  • Ability to evaluate web traffic and identify threats
  • Ability to work with different teams to find the best solution to a problem

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of Web Application Firewall experience
  • 2+ Experience with Cloud services, especially Azure and AWS
  • 5 years of Application Security Experience
  • CISSP, CSSLP, Certified Ethical Hacker or similar certifications
