Supervisory Animal Operations Oncology to join our team in Greenfield, IN. Labcorp Drug Development –we’re always striving for innovations in drug development.

The Supervisor –Animal Operations Oncology schedules, coordinates and prioritize all related study and non-study related work for team as well as acts as liaison to other work groups. The position is responsible for providing supervision and guidance to personnel and operations to ensure the care of laboratory animals, facilities, and animal environment. In this role you will spend 20 – 30% of time in the lab/vivarium with at least half of that time coaching, mentoring and working with staff.

Additional duties include but not limited to;

  • Assures appropriate communication within the group, particularly for dissemination of information (i. e. Study progress, Facility procedures, Quality, Health and Safety, Business Updates and any other departmental or company communications)
  • Understands and interprets study plans and identifies problems resulting from the study plan or during study conduct and takes appropriate action.
  • Optimizes existing and develops new techniques, methods for study conduct or non-study specific areas and supports their application.
  • Performs quality controls, assures corrections of errors (incl. documentation) identifies potential problems and optimizes the quality control system.
  • Responsible for constructive responses to reports and questions from Study Direction, QAU, EH&S, clients or regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
  • Performs corrective actions when needed.
  • Provides for safety and welfare of staff and supports/enforces Environmental Health and Safety Policies
  • Responsible for compliance with laws, regulatory agency guidelines, GLP, GMP, SOPs and other operating procedures as well as study plans.
  • Learns how to interpret quarterly business results and to translate them into local decisions and action.

Education/Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science area, Animal Science or related field preferred. Experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Prior leadership experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with Animal Research Studies
  • 1+ years of working Oncology Animal Research Studies preferred 2 + years of experience with large and small animal research studies within a CRO (Contract Research Organization) or high volume academic research laboratory setting.
  • 2+ years of experience interpreting pre-clinical (animal research) studies including interprets study plans and identifying obstacles and taking appropriate action
  • Prefer but not required 1+ years of experience at Labcorp Drug Development working in animal research studies
