Indiana Farm Bureau advocates for farmers. Through policies and programs, Indiana Farm Bureau promotes agriculture and improves the economic and social welfare of member families. The education and engagement team at Indiana Farm Bureau focuses on educating students and the public about agriculture, finding engagement opportunities through Farm Bureau, and offers unique opportunities in networking, leadership development, and hands-on experience to create an environment for personal and professional growth.

This internship will work with education and engagement programs and activities that enhance student and consumer understanding of modern agriculture; research elementary agriculture accurate books and develop educational materials for volunteers and teachers; prepare and facilitate lessons for AITC summer workshops; and develop content to enhance specific Indiana agriculture lessons and/or kits. The intern will also prepare and deliver lessons to students at the Felege Hiywot Center. Additionally, the intern will work with member volunteers and INFB staff during the Indiana State Fair, Taste From Indiana Farms, and the Young Farmers & Ag Professionals planning meeting.

Strong communication and organizational skills are required. Applicants pursuing an agricultural education or agricultural communications degree are preferred. Understanding and experience in preparing educational lessons and activities for middle and high school students is preferred. Applicants should be self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented, have an awareness of Indiana academic standards, and be able to establish clearly defined goals and objectives for projects. An agricultural background is preferred but not required.

Any college student in their sophomore through senior year is encouraged to apply.
