DescriptionCorteva Agriscience LLC is seeking a full-time Staff Associate Investigator at our offices in Johnston, IA. The Staff Associate Investigator leads a team to develop, improve and implement new crop transformation technologies and processes for efficient genome modification and high throughput transgenic plant production.


This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Biotechnology, Plant Science, or a related field and 4 years related biology experience. Must also have 12 months of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: (1) utilizing plant cell biology and physiology, and experience with plant tissue culture and transformation systems in multiple crops; (2) developing strategies for successful execution of pipeline projects via in-depth analysis of transformation processes; (3) coaching direct reports on performance and personal development, and building high performing teams; (4) executing gene targeting and gene excising experiments using proprietary methods, including Inducible-gene expression and excision method, Controlled tissue culture treatment method, Methods for visual detection of gene expression using color markers; and (5) plant tissue culture and bacterium culture technologies and equipment, Controlled growth environments/equipment, Aseptic tools and technologies. Sterilization and contamination technologies and equipment. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master’s program. This position requires up to 5% of domestic and international travel.
