About the role…. 

The Sr. Manager Product Development Operations will lead the planning, process development, and overall strategy across the Product Development Operations team with a focus on the later stages of product development.  This role will work across a diverse group of teams and stakeholders across Inari to help coordinate Inari’s Field Testing, Research Farm, and Late Product Development activities as it relates to process, planning, strategy, and execution. The candidate must enjoy a rapid paced atmosphere and be flexible, show initiative, and good judgment to achieve established goals and deliverables. This role is on-site in West Lafayette, IN and reports to the Senior Director, Product Development Operations. 

 

As the Sr. Manager of Product Development Operations, you will… 

  • Provide leadership of people and teams in Product Development Operations group. 
  • Own the development of the operations strategy to enable product development activities that are aligned with company milestones & goals. 
  • Be responsible for the coordination of resources to ensure projects are resourced appropriately. 
  • Effectively communicate, through an open dialogue, across and within teams to drive alignment.  
  • Generate the mechanisms for planning and execution of all field related activities.  
  • Balance resources and project requests with Inari’s short, mid, and longer term goals. 
  • Own the allocation and prioritization of resources across projects. 
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to develop timelines/deadlines to ensure successful execution of trials and timely return of high-quality data and seed. 
  • Own the development and implementation of new processes while consistently looking for process improvement opportunities within operations.   
  • Work with key stakeholders to align testing strategies and logistics of implementation. 

 

You Bring… 

  • Master’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, or related discipline and at least 5 years of experience working in small plot field testing, breeding nurseries, or research trials.  
  • A collaborative mindset that is open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedback. 
  • Experience managing people and leading teams.  
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and audiences. 
  • Ability to work both independently and deliver on responsibilities within a highly collaborative environment. 
  • Experience in field testing operations is desirable. 
  • A strong sense of purpose and drive to develop unique, high impact solutions. 
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, innate curiosity, and a passion for learning. 
  • Experience organizing, cleaning, and analyzing large field trial data sets. 
  • Relevant seed industry experience working with CRO’s on field trial planning and execution. 
  • Systems thinking – able to think critically, conceptually, and analytically about systems and procedures  
  • Sound and accurate judgment; accountable for decisions made within the scope of responsibility and focused on meeting established short-term goals and long-term objectives  
  • Experience with project management, business development, or project coordination is desirable.
