Who we need

Reporting to the Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor, we are looking for a Senior QA Technician to join our cutting-edge food production plant in Indiana. You will play a critical role in implementing quality assurance programs within the food product manufacturing process and ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. You will be the main point of contact for customers requesting sampling during trials.

This is a day shift role, Monday through Friday, 6 AM—2:30 PM, with some flexibility required during audits and food trials.

What you will do:

  • Conduct quality control and testing. You will be accountable for completing routine testing, which includes environmental monitoring, light monitoring, water sampling, air sampling, and nitrogen sampling. You will perform and oversee testing raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. You will field external requests for sampling from customers, determining batch and timing. You will analyze test results, identify trends, recommend corrective actions, maintain detailed documentation and report on results.
  • Conduct lab inventory. You will determine and schedule dates for recycling or destroying ingredients or products, taking responsibility for adding to the Dommer list. You will perform inventory audits and work with purchaser to maintain acceptable levels.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance practices. You will ensure all products meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.). You will conduct self-inspections to monitor the implementation of and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles. You will assist in preparing for audits by regulatory agencies and customers.

What you bring to the role:

  • The experience. You have worked in quality control or quality assurance in a food manufacturing environment. You have a strong understanding of quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. You have an understanding of food safety requirements and have completed HACCP training and GFSI scheme training. Ideally, you are familiar with FDA, BRC, and other relevant audits and regulatory requirements.
  • The integrity and accountability. You have an analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and creative problem-solving. You have excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have effective and professional verbal and written communication skills. You are highly collaborative and can work across departments and sites, guiding and influencing the work of those around you.
  • The technical skills. You have strong knowledge of quality assurance processes in food manufacturing, including experience with Dommers. You are proficient with QA testing methods and tools, including sensory evaluation, microbiological testing, and chemical analysis.
