Who we need

Reporting to the Accounting and Payroll Manager, we are looking for a Payroll Specialist. You will deliver accurate and timely payroll processing for approximately 250 employees ensuring compliance and providing exceptional customer service. As the first line of contact for resolving issues, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, assist with implementing new procedures, and support onboarding new employees.

This hybrid role requires being onsite 2 days a week in the Lebanon, Indiana office.

 

Who you are

You are a quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced and busy environment. You can work independently, balancing multiple priorities. You bring an in-depth understanding of US payroll regulations and procedures, and have experience working with Dayforce.

How you will make an impact:

  • Process payroll. You will input and balance payroll for bi-weekly hourly and salaried U.S. employees. You will input and verify bank information, reconcile bi-weekly pay-to-pay adjustments, process and reconcile vacation payments, submit weekly files to respective agencies, and verify all output from Ceridian.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable. You will process Staffing Agency invoices and Freight and Raw Material and Packaging invoices. You will process expense payments and credit card payments.
    Reporting. You will run payroll-related reports, as required bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. You will reconcile Ceridian and banking reports. You will generate labour reports, health insurance reconciliation, etc.
  • Support HR administration. You will update and verify personnel profiles in Dayforce and retrieve data as requested from Managers and Leaders. You will assist in the 401K Audit and collection of documentation.
  • Communicate. You will work with managers to address time-reporting errors in the timekeeping system and respond to inquiries from employees and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process changes. You will ensure that employee enrollment, changes, terminations, and adjustments are updated in the systems accurately and in a timely manner. You will also verify the accuracy of annual registers and other documentation.

 

What you bring to the role:

  • The experience. You have experience as a Payroll Specialist for a growing mid-sized company with strong knowledge of payroll processes, regulatory requirements and agencies in the U.S.  You have an aptitude for numbers and processes, experience with Ceridian. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be an asset but is not required. You strictly adhere to the professionalism, detail orientation, and confidentiality required in Finance and Human Resources.
  • The drive. You have a growth mindset and an interest in expanding your knowledge beyond payroll. You have proven organization, planning and time management skills and can balance changing priorities to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have professional written and verbal communication skills. You can build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You prioritize delivering exceptional service in a timely manner. You strictly adhere to the professionalism, and confidentiality, required in Finance and Human Resources.
