This position is a key leader within the marketing team responsible to lead, develop and drive all aspects of our brands for the Dermatology, a must win category for the success of Elanco.

Responsibilities include management of products already on the market, launch preparedness for blockbuster products and pipeline development. This leader is also responsible to contribute to the overall development of our marketing capabilities by leading and developing teams and advocating for the marketing efforts.


Innovation/Launch Readiness of future portfolio


  • Leads development of strategic evolution and strategic plan for dermatology portfolio, working collaboratively with Pet Health Innovation (US and Global) and R&D to identify areas for exponential expansion
  • Leads commercialization strategy for several upcoming blockbuster launches
  • Works cross-functionally to accelerate launches and ensure they reach peak value (including manufacturing, R&D, digital transformation, vet engagement, etc)
  • Develops messaging platform utilizing market research insights to yield persuasive and resonating value propositions and messaging options


Business Ownership of current portfolio:

  • Enables delivery of Elanco P&L for Pet Health and manages budget for the DERMATOLOGY portfolio
  • Identify and track health and performance KPI for assigned portfolio
  • Ensures commercial readiness by overseeing development and execution of plans with brand teams within assigned areas
  • Ensures accuracy of forecast


Strategy Development

  • Develops portfolio strategy for Dermatology products, ensuring maximization of brand potential including lifecycle management
  • Leads development of brand plans for assigned group of products
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – creativity to identify opportunities when others may not see them and a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to execute

Brand Messaging and Activation

  • Defines and updates positioning, where appropriate in collaboration with key cross-functional partners
  • Works collaboratively with cross functional partners, including vet sales Retail,  Digital Transformation and lead agency/ies to develop integrated marketing campaigns for focus and select defend brands


Insights and Analytics

  • Insights expertise—understands what market  research to do and works with Insights team to action research projects
  • Excels in reading, interpreting, and analyzing research and other reports and making strategic and tactical recommendations based on this data
  • Highly analytical, strong understanding of market/dispensing data

  • Bachelor’s degree, Marketing/Business preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in Healthcare Marketing with experience in Animal Health and/or Dermatology preferred
  • 3+ years of managing people
