The Senior Manager of the Center for Food Demand Analysis and Sustainability will lead the center, manage staff, coordinate center activities, and serve as the key contact for the center within and outside the University. This individual will manage and help execute sponsored program projects and ensure timely execution of deliverables as well as plan for and manage a range of center events and activities such as conferences, workshops, and seminars. This position will plan annual budgets for center, plan and authorizes expenditures incurred in center activities and work with external stakeholders to raise resources for the center, including grant writing, and project development. Additional duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Hiring, onboarding, disciplining, firing, mentoring, evaluating and managing staff, and students
  • Coordinating and delegating duties to staff
  • Working with the Center Director to execute vision and mission
  • Collaborating with the Center Director on short and long term goals for the center
  • Assessing center activities, create reports, and make recommendations for changes needed or future projects/activities
  • Working with external stakeholders to raise resources for the center, including grant writing, and project development
  • Documenting Center activities and communicating activities with internal and external audiences
  • Working with communications teams to create web and social media presence


  • Master’s degree
  • 3 years of program or project management experience
  • In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience (Bachelor’s degree + 5 year’s of experience)
  • Strong written and communication skill
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships within and outside the University
  • Ability to lead and provide oversight to staff, students, and postdocs
  • Ability to turn vision into action and results
  • Ability to work independently, handle responsibilities in a timely manner with very little direct supervision, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge and proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office software


  • Master’s in management, marketing, economics, agricultural economics, MBA, or related field
  • Knowledge of project management, marketing, market demand analysis, financial management, reporting and analytics
  • Prior experience in food and agricultural industries
