Basic Responsibilities:

  • As part of the Global Procurement Team, this role will be responsible for strategic sourcing and related activities to the purchase of packaging materials Elanco’s internal manufacturing sites.
  • The role is based at Elanco’s manufacturing site either in Clinton Indiana or Fort Dodge, Iowa and has primary responsibility for leading the sourcing process for all primary and secondary packaging materials from strategy development and supplier selection through contract negotiation and ongoing relationship management with other functions supporting the Elanco manufacturing sites.
  • This role will report into the Global Director of Internal Manufacturing and will interact with stakeholders across the M&Q unit as well as other business units to provide an initiative-taking, engaged, value adding service to support the needs of the business.

 

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

  • Partner with the Elanco Procurement Global Category Leaders and drive productivity through the sourcing and value capture process.
  • Develop key business partner relationships and understand Elanco’s business objectives so a collaborative environment of change can be implemented.
  • Act as a business partner, change agent and coach collaborative manufacturing site leaders and stakeholder to fully understand Elanco’s business needs and ensure buy-in and successful implementation of Procurement solutions.
  • Utilize spend data to develop a strategic sourcing portfolio that aligns with the global category strategy.
  • Assume primary responsibility for leading the sourcing process from strategy development and supplier selection through contract negotiation and ongoing relationship management with other functions supporting the Elanco manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and maintain market knowledge for one or more spend areas, identify, and implement best business practices that deliver value to the network internally to influence change, lead local and global projects through the strategic sourcing process resulting in negotiations and contracting with the selected. · Interact with the Elanco external manufacturing group, Supply Chain, TS/MS, Quality and Strategic Facilities Planning.
  • Take responsibility for strategic sourcing and related activities to Elanco’s internal manufacturing sites based in Europe and APAC region for all primary and secondary packaging materials and art services.
  • The position requires a strong working knowledge of Animal Health manufacturing processes and quality systems.

 

Basic requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, and/or Supply Chain or equivalent At least 3 years of experience in Site Procurement or equivalent Purchasing experience.
  • Experience or knowledge of cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • Proven interpersonal skills especially in conflict situations and collaborates effectively with internal and external teams.
  • Ability to network and influence and drive organizational change even beyond area of direct responsibility and across all levels of management and multiple regions.
  • Proven skills in negotiating and understanding of commercial law. · Demonstrated ability to work independently, set direction, manage commitments.
  • Experience in managing global third-party relationships including supplier management/oversight, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting and problem resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, good analytical and problem-solving skills. · Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding supply value chains and associated cost drivers
  • Strong data analysis and MS Excel skills · SAP and Ariba Tool experience

 

Other Information

  • Travel: Overnight domestic and international is possible (20%)
  • Locations: Fort Dodge, IA; Clinton, IN or Greenfield, IN
