About the role….
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Seed Inventory Manager to oversee and manage our seed inventory operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for forecasting inventory needs across various departments, planning seed increases, assessing seed quality, and developing and implementing a testing regimen to ensure our seed meets quality standards. Additionally, the Seed Inventory Manager will work to align inventory with commercial and licensing requirements.
As a Seed Inventory Manager you will…
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast seed inventory needs, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives, seed agreement timelines, and product lifecycle demands.
- Monitor and adjust inventory levels based on changing forecasts.
- Plan and coordinate seed production and increases to meet forecasted demand.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality testing regimen to ensure that all seeds meet the company’s quality standards.
- Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems to monitor seed levels, usage, and expiration dates.
- Prepare and present reports on inventory status, quality metrics, and forecasting to management.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on inventory needs, seed availability, quality, and any issues that arise.
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in seed production management or demand planning or a related field.
- Experience in forecasting, planning, and quality control in the seed industry.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong knowledge of seed production, inventory management, and quality assessment techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to forecast seed inventory requirements and plan based on complex data sets.
- A strong sense of purpose and drive to develop unique, high impact solutions
- Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and audiences
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, innate curiosity, and a passion for learning
- Creative and strategic thinking, willingness to be bold and take risks, and the ability to recognize and learn from failure
