Job Title: Sales Operations Director

Location: Indianapolis

 Are you a self-starter who would like to shape the intersection of agriculture and technology? Would you like to own the creation of a sales operations function and drive growth?

Advanced Agrilytics is investing in a new “Sales Operations” capability, and we are looking for a leader of this new group. This role will be responsible for starting and growing the Sales Operations team. Sales Operations will be accountable for enabling sales growth through competitive market insights, territory planning and go-to market recommendations, sales execution standards and tracking, creating the commercial planning process, and owning CRM. The Sales Operations function is critical to our continued growth with the sales team. This position will report to the Grower Direct Business Lead.

Key responsibilities:

Develop Sales Operations team & support onboarding

  • Hire, lead and manage team of Sales Ops Associates and oversee tasks completed by team
  • Onboard new sales employees (including new Precision Agronomists and Sales Specialists) to way of selling & expectations including selling tools and invoicing
  • Work directly with Grower Direct Business Lead to set target and compensation structure for Precision Agronomists and Sales Specialists

Set approach & track execution

  • Align on opportunities (e.g., Size market opportunities across geographies, assess go to market strategy) and expectations (e.g., create sales routine & CRM expectations) with CEO, CFO, and Grower Direct Business Lead
  • Develop operational dashboards and metrics to advise sales management on ways to improve sales processes
  • Work directly with Area Business Managers (ABMs) to address gaps in sales execution standards
  • Manage commercial planning process with ABMs and Grower Direct Business Lead, ensuring regional growth plans meet overall company goals

Own sales CRM and pipeline

  • Maintain overall sales process and develop views into pipeline forecast & areas of opportunity for Grower Direct division
  • Own CRM and drive hygiene for performance visibility


  • 8 – 10 years of sales or sales operations experience with 3 of those years in sales or sales operations management with teams of 2 or more
  • Strong results orientation and ability to hold sellers accountable and make data backed decisions
  • High familiarity with CRM systems and other business intelligence tools
  • Ability to inspire, coach and mentor a team
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally to accomplish sales support objectives (e.g., Training, HR, Marketing)
  • Experience with complex projects or analysis and a track record of impact
  • Exceptional project management, organization, verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
