Overview

This position is responsible for introducing and influencing the adoption of software quality practices across software development teams, mentoring other quality assurance staff, and conveying quality issues through tactful communication. This role will be based out of Atlanta, IN. We are open to a hybrid work setting for this position eventually but will expect the applicant to be within a commutable distance to the office. In-office work will be expected 5 days per week in the beginning and eventually will have the flexibility of being hybrid with more days in office than remote per week.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute in the creation of software quality standards for the overall department
  • Effectively communicate current quality issues and desired future state goals
  • Mentor other Software Quality staff members
  • Research new tools and quality practices within the wider software quality communities outside of Beck’s
  • Contribute to software test effort estimation and ongoing progress tracking
  • Communicate with development, design, and relevant business owners to obtain full and accurate understanding of intended software system functionality
  • Review software prototype designs and provide early feedback from a software quality and usability perspective
  • Analyze reference documentation and author test cases to provide proper coverage
  • Participate in the generation/management of required test data
  • Experience with cross browser and mobile platform testing
  • Ability to perform initial high level defect isolation and re-creation
  • Basic browser regression test automation code development skills
  • Basic usage of Git code management tools

 

Job Requirements

1.    Education and training:

  • B.S. in computer science or related field is preferred
  • ISTQB or other QA industry certification preferred

2.    Technical knowledge:

  • Proficient in Agile development methodology, implemented via Scrum
  • Proficient in Git workflow
  • Proficient in automated testing tools such as TestCafe.

3.    Experience:

  • Ten (10)+ years in software engineering and testing

4.    Personal Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team and individually
  • Organizational skills with the capability of working towards tight deadlines
