BASIC FUNCTION

The Portfolio Associate Food and Agribusiness is responsible for portfolio management of complex Food and Agribusiness loan originations, multi-bank syndications, purchase participations and sold participations.  This role proactively manages an assigned portfolio to meet constantly changing priorities and deadlines and includes monitoring and completing portfolio transactions. The Portfolio Associate is responsible for communication, relationship building and overall portfolio growth through a focused balance of sales, marketing, and support in the Food and Agribusiness segment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10-15%

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT – The Portfolio Associate is responsible for retaining and increasing the Association’s Food and Agribusiness portfolio with new and existing customers by:

  • Overseeing and managing customer portfolios per industry assignment.
  • Developing and maintaining strong rapport with external customer relationships in the assigned portfolio.
  • Coordinating and managing external and internal customer loan and servicing needs and the process for such.
  • Verifying complex loan documentation, loan terms and financial elements are accurate and have appropriate approvals in place.
  • Comprehending the credit narrative, balance sheet, and profit and loss documentation.
  • Seeking innovative solutions to serve the unique needs of the customer and portfolio.
  • Processing new loan requests, renewals and annual financials timely.
  • Completing customer field visits in partnership with sales and credit team members.
  • Attending industry conferences.

COLLABORATION – In order to deliver a world-class customer experience, the Food and Agribusiness Portfolio Associate will:

  • Provide exceptional service and support to customers, sales and credit team members.
  • Prepare lender allocation information and distribute to lenders.
  • Work directly with the Food & Agribusiness sales team, credit team, borrowers, bank group partners, legal counsel, title companies, insurance agents, and vendors to confirm loan requirements are met and necessary due diligence is obtained.
  • Coordinate with bank groups, including maintaining lender contact information and lender allocations in the loan system.

DELIVER SOUND CREDIT – As a key element of the ongoing relationship with our customers, the Food and Agribusiness Portfolio Associate will:

  • Maintain and update Food and Agribusiness loan files in accordance with association policies and procedures.
  • Prepare lending activity reports for leadership and credit committee.
  • Request, track, and monitor the receipt of financial information of loan customers in the Food and Agribusiness credit portfolio; including annual financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements and the quarterly or semi-annual receipt of account receivable / payable agings and borrowing base certificates.
  • Track and manage customer delinquencies.
  • Maintain an effective tickler system to track required interest rate and monthly payment changes on variable rate Food and Agribusiness loans; coordinate the interest rate and payment changes with the loan servicing area in a timely and accurate fashion.
