Job Summary

As an Operations Manager at Purdue DIAL Ventures, you’ll provide key administrative support to our leadership team, manage schedules, coordinate communications, and oversee special projects. Your role is vital to our venture’s efficient operation, success, and brand integrity. The position is a hybrid work environment with on-site hours Tuesday through Thursday. The position has travel requirements that will require the candidate to be away from home for approximately 4 to 5 weeks per year.

This position has the ability to be hybrid – must live in Indiana. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Senior Administrative Support:

  • Manage daily administrative duties such as: coordinating high-level meetings, onboarding new employees, processing invoice payments, overseeing travel arrangements and reimbursements, and reconciling budget with PARI accounting

Strategic Communication Management: 

  • Facilitate clear, timely, and brand-consistent communication with internal and external Purdue stakeholders, including faculty, students, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry partners with an eye toward fostering long-term relationships

Event Coordination and Management:

  • Lead the planning and organization of high-level meetings, events, and conferences
  • Ensure that all logistical details are handled, from meeting agendas to post-event follow-ups
  • Assure consistency with the DIAL Ventures brand
  • This includes managing the logistics and planning of key Innovation Fellows program activities such as the 2-week residency program, the industry roundtable event, and Pitch week that all occur twice per year (travel for these events is a requirement of the position)

Project Leadership: 

  • Drive key strategic projects and initiatives to completion
  • This includes gathering data, leading analysis, and developing comprehensive reports for the executive team

Confidential Record Management: 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of internal documents, contracts, and other relevant materials
  • Manage confidential records, documents, and contracts with the highest level of discretion

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, or related field
  • Five (5) years of related experience
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude in communication and interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Supervisory experience
  • Agriculture and/or food industry experience
  • startup, venture capital, or entrepreneurial experience
  • Work experience in higher education
