Indiana Farm Bureau, Indiana’s largest nonprofit farm organization, works to be an effective advocate for farmers. Through its policies and programs, it promotes agriculture and improves member families’ economic and social welfare. We are looking for someone who can:

  • Prepare and publish annual financial statements for affiliated nonprofit membership organizations.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Facilitate the preparation of non-profit budgets.
  • Research and resolve technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to complete additional projects as assigned.

 

Minimum knowledge and job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CPA Candidate, or Enrolled Agent designation.
  • Working experience in accounting with a preference for tax reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Ability to gain an understanding of nonprofit and payroll tax worksheets and computations.
  • Knowledge of accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
  • Attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and the ability to manage multiple duties and deadlines.
  • Efficiency in problem-solving, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
  • Capacity to communicate efficiently in both written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to work within a team and foster an environment of collaboration.
