Overview
As the Manufacturing Engineer, are a technical expert taking process ownership over the line structure. You will oversee the data and ensure that the line is achieving its goals using Conagra’s improvement systems, including Centerlines, CIL, Daily Direction Setting, and Changeover. You will report to the Cell Lead at our Indianapolis Bakery plant.
Position Responsibilities
- You will use personal and contractor support to be a technical expert and trainer for cell and operation team resources for applicable systems.
- You will oversee the line’s Centerline management system and lead the process of identifying centerline points and standards.
- You will use plant facilities and maintenance department resources for all relevant project improvement work requiring needed support or affecting their site accountability.
- You will coordinate Focused Improvement work for all appropriate plant personnel, team members, contracts, and vendors who are required to provide completion of improvement projects.
- You will lead the identification and prioritization of loss elimination through Daily Direction Meetings.
- You will coordinate startup and training education for all improvement work.
- You need to communicate with all key stakeholders through multiple levels of the organization with progress updates for responsible improvement work.
- You will manage the assigned Daily Management systems assessment plant.
- You will develop manufacturing processes that accommodate specific consumer and marketplace requirements for new products, while meeting process, quality, and cost goals.
- You will collaborate across departments and in a team environment as you anticipate and mitigate risk.
Position Qualifications
- BS in Chemical, Food, or Biological Engineering or other related field.
- 1-3 years related experience .
- Experience with continuous improvement projects and operations.
- You have effective communication, interpersonal, and listening skills (both verbal and nonverbal) and the ability to present to leadership.
- You have strong problem-solving skills and are able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and make conclusions.
- Ambitious self-starter with ability to work with minimal direction
