Summary/Purpose of Position:
As the Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for providing overall logistics support, including LTL management.  Provide support to Logistics Manager for reporting, electronic logs, DOT, and fuel management.  Manage LTL shipments for customer deliveries and internal movements, utilizing the most suitable carrier to best combine service and cost.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties: 


  • Work with Logistics Manager, Transit & Dispatch Manager and Delivery Supervisors on tasks pertaining to:
    • Reporting
    • ELD and GPS Tracking software
    • DOT Compliance
    • Fuel reconciliation / compliance
    • Outside carrier invoicing
  • Act as back-up to Transit & Dispatch Manager as needed
  • Continuously look for process improvements by analyzing data and information and collaborating with inter-company departments


  • Identify the best carrier is being chosen for the lane
  • Compare invoices with quoted amount to make sure charges are correct, and complete payment process
  • Coordinate with dispatch to make sure LTL is best option
  • Reporting by carrier, customer, and plant
  • Develop and manage LTL carrier relationships
  • Coordinate with Central Customer Service (CCS) to ensure shipments and all communication pertinent to logistics is handled


  • Software – work with Logistics Manager to help implement and manage shop software and reporting

Minimum Job Qualification Requirements:


  • AS Degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business Management
  • 1-3 or more years of work experience in Supply Chain or Logistics
  • Knowledge of agriculture industry preferred

Specialized Job / Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding and knowledge of current supply chain and procurement principles & methodologies
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of ELD software
