Corteva Agriscience is looking for an innovative, energetic, and transformational IT Product Owner for our North America Business Solutions area.

An IT Product Owner (ITPO) is accountable for identifying and delivering IT solutions for their aligned IT products and services. They do this through a clearly defined product family with solutions that align to enterprise standards and common technology patterns. They lead a team of Developers, Architect(s), and Business Process Expert(s) to translate technology priorities into requirements for delivering Corteva’s overall strategy for solutions that achieve transformational business outcomes.

The North America ITPO will partner with their Business Product Owners to shape and drive forward the strategy and execution of a diverse set of products for Corteva serving both seeds and crop protection. This includes decisions toward best of breed technologies and practices that will meet the diverse and changing needs of the North America Region from Operations through Commercial. The role will also be responsible to build out a talented and diverse set of resources towards a global product model.

Primary Responsibilities – How will you help us Grow!

  • Influences and executes on a defined business roadmap for aligned IT products.
  • Ensure successful product delivery inclusive of support.
  • Responsible for building the vision for the IT products/services, in alignment with business value/strategy roadmaps.
  • Responsible for financial management of the product family (i.e., financials for delivery, tech vendor contracts, Total Cost of Ownership, etc.).
  • Expected to articulate and write technical product strategies, working with cross-functional groups to achieve support as necessary.
  • Facilitates development of clear, detailed, and thorough specifications for complex services and features of products.
  • Articulates key product messaging for business and IT colleagues.
  • Manages the end-to-end lifecycle(s) of complex products.
  • Creative in designing solutions and recognizes best design practices.
  • Has deep understanding of platforms, tools, and technology in product area.
  • Consults on epics, user stories across multiple complex and cross-functional feature/service areas as needed.
  • Collaborates with Business stakeholders and/or BRMs and Product Owners to ensure that the right products are delivered to meet Corteva’s most pressing business needs.
  • Maintains current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology.
  • Lead an IT product through its lifecycle and initiatives within it from inception to completion.
  • Provide leadership and stakeholders with timely status updates.
  • Manage and control changes to a product by working with stakeholders.
  • Identify the critical path of work to assess and mitigate risks for meeting business objectives.
  • Partners with the IT BRM to establish and lead regular operating rhythms with relevant stakeholders to cover both strategic and operational opportunities and issues and drive decision-making and action.
  • Maintains IT product dashboard (e.g., key performance indicators) for reporting, Agile Delivery Team management, and product health monitoring.
  • Create and maintain tools to track product and team metrics or enhance delivery and team productivity.
  • Manage employees and/or contracted staff as direct reports.
  • Mentor and coach direct and matrixed team members.

Qualifications

What expertise have you grown – What do you bring to the table?

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience designing and deploying customer facing digital marketing and e-Commerce tools and capabilities to a diverse set of personas or customers.
  • 10+ years of IT and business experience with increasing levels of leadership responsibility.
  • 5+ years leading an IT team or department, including creating strategy and managing budgets.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills, with an ability to become familiar with Corteva-specific programs and software.
  • Proficiency in collaboration and delegation of duties.
  • Possess a high degree of initiative to take independent action and be able to exercise proper judgement at all times.
  • Detail oriented, and able to consistently produce high quality, accurate work and results.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and strict time constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred

  • 3-5 years experience in design and deploy of digital capabilities in an Agriscience or adjacent industry.
  • Experience in developing large scale funding and deployment plans.
  • Experience with SAFe and Product Management at Scale strategies.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager, Microsoft Azure, and SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris).
  • Experience with data migrations and integrations with enterprise-level applications.
