Overview

The IT Manager – Manufacturing is responsible for leading business transformation initiatives, projects, as well as managing the application strategy and roadmap for Heartland’s manufacturing capabilities.  This will include being a workstream leader in a program to transform the end-to-end manufacturing capabilities. This role is key in implementing new systems and processes that will enable business capabilities of the future.  This individual will participate in defining systems’ standards and architecture.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and deliver against a multi-year strategy for Manufacturing as it related to IT.
  • Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for Manufacturing systems in conjunction with applicable users, department managers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of the strategic technology roadmap, justification and prioritization of technology initiatives, and identification of innovation opportunities.
  • Document system architecture plans and describe architecture alignment with business strategy.
  • Represent business requirements and priorities to IT while also representing the IT systems and programs to the business.
  • Research and implement best practices and emerging technology, industry, and market trends to drive optimization of delivered solutions.
  • Engage in product, technology, and vendor evaluations and benchmarking activities.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Lead remediation activities for Manufacturing systems (e.g. Ignition) into the SYSPRO ERP.
  • Coordinate team efforts (internal & external), communications to senior leadership, and setting clear prioritization and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with business strategists, process owners, subject matter experts, and enabling teams.
  • Analyze business needs, define detailed requirements, and validate potential solutions with the business, following IT standards and methodologies.
  • Ensure business objectives and conditions of satisfaction (metrics) are met.
  • Provide support for the end-to-end Manufacturing solutions.

Operational Management

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Work with business leaders to define options, risks, costs, benefits, and impacts on products, processes, and strategy.
  • Engage with external partners to leverage their expertise and resources to maintain and advance systems and technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of technical or business process expertise across the organization by sharing information with teammates and business partners.
  • Represent business requirements and priorities within Information Technology planning sessions.
  • Advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits and impacts on business processes, and systems.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and interact with computers, telephone and other electronic media.
  • Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree with STEM focus (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems) or Manufacturing

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of experience with a combination of IT development/operations, business engagement, analytics, or other IT jobs leveraging systems tools to support business process optimization of Manufacturing development within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) or related industry.
  • 7+ years of technical and functional experience in Manufacturing processes that support the creation of optimal production schedules, transformation of raw materials into finished good, and the tracking and optimization these materials and processes.
  • Experience with implementing and managing integrated manufacturing systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective interactions with senior leadership.
  • Consistent ability to build relationships and leverage partners and advisors.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle and application lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of the functionality native to ERP, Advanced Planning Scheduling, SCADA, and Manufacturing Execution systems.
  • Proven project management experience.
