JOB SUMMARY: 

The National Council for Agricultural Education (The Council) is seeking applications from qualified individuals interested in a summer internship.  The Council strives to stimulate positive growth in agricultural education by  providing leadership for stakeholders in agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems education. It strives to surface issues important to agricultural education and stimulate actions to support those issues. The Council serves as a common meeting ground for agricultural education and represents organizations and entities representing students, teachers, teacher educators, state leaders, alumni, industry and government.  The position location for this role is at the National FFA Center in Indianapolis, IN.

The position will assist with communication among Council organizations thru work on the Council’s website and e-newsletter.     The position will also assist with larger projects such as the AFNR revisions, NQPS task force and research projects.

Attention to detail, exceptional organization and time management skills are critical for this position. Experience and knowledge working with Microsoft office, Zoom, Canva and Jotform platforms is preferred. Flexibility, desire to gain knowledge, positivity and being a team player are attributes we are seeking in this individual.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Daily tasks within Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint.
  • Work with communications team on website review and content development.
  • Assist with research and communication of projects such as AFNR and NQPS.
  • Development of one-pagers and communication materials in Canva and PowerPoint.
  • Content review of educational lesson plans and resources.
  • Compiling historical documents and research studies.
  • Building, inviting and monitoring of Zoom meetings.
  • Build, organize, and manage meeting documents.
  • Coordination of fall Council meeting including venue, food & beverage, tour and audio/visual details.
  • Communication with Council Directors, working groups and agriculture educators.
  • Able to work in person at the National FFA center.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

Enrollment in post-secondary studies required. Areas of preferred study include Agricultural Education, Agricultrual Comminication or Agrilcutrual Business.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous experiences with agricultural education is helpful.
