The Seed Lab Technician assists in the preparation and planting of seed samples that will be evaluated for its viability and purity in an indoor laboratory environment. The Seed Lab Technician must be available to work up to 40 hours of work during the busy testing season August through April with occasional opportunity for overtime on weekends. The start and stop time may vary each day, depending on workload, and it is required the Seed Lab Technician transition between laboratories as workload necessitates. Therefore, flexibility is essential.

The Lab Technician must be able to lift approximately 25 pounds, carry supplies and materials within the lab and be able to stand for extended periods of time. Previous experience in lab work and agriculture is preferred but not necessary as training will be provided. Candidates need to be at least 18 years of age and have received a high school diploma or equivalent. Starting hourly wage is based on experience. Technicians hired per season will depend upon seasonal workload.
