The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for completing daily human resources-related duties including but not limited to onboarding new employees, recruitment, employee relations, employment documentation, benefits, payroll, policies, and compliance. This position is also responsible for providing excellent customer service.

  • Lead day-to-day operations of compliance matters associated with the development, implementation and revision of personnel policies and procedures; prepare and distribute employee handbook and policies and procedures manuals.
  • Manage compliance with various Federal, State and local employment laws.
  • Lead the organization of the Migrant and Seasonal Protection Act (MSPA) compliance activity related to the Detasseling and Husk and Sort programs (request and organize all required documentation for FLC’s).
  • Oversee compliance requirements related to Agricultural Labor Camps.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory trainings. (Ex. Anti-Harassment)
  • Assist in the administration of benefits plans including new hire enrollment, life events, claims inquiries, and benefits invoicing.
  • Support new hire process including the setup of new employees within the Human Resource and payroll system, obtaining required paperwork, setting up appropriate time-clock access, and taking new employee pictures.
  • Obtain and review new hire paperwork including Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification documentation, to verify the identity and employment authorization of new hires with E-Verify.
  • Collaborate with managers to develop and maintain accurate job descriptions to ensure consistency among positions.
  • Assist with maintaining employee personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Support off-boarding efforts including exit paperwork and interviews.
  • Assist as needed with interviewing, screening and recruiting job applicants to fill job openings.
  • Compile reports from ADP database as needed.
  • Assist as needed in providing verification of current or former employment.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Maintain accurate human resources information system records by processing changes in a timely manner.
  • Support in the administration of leaves of absence.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
  • Perform other duties as may be required by the Human Resources Manager.


Job Requirements

1.    Education and training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent field and/or experience is desired.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy.

2.    Technical knowledge:

  • Basic computer and current software skills.
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is a plus

3.    Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience in human resource related work is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal employment-related regulations preferred.
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred.
