Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, the Head, eCommerce Growth is responsible for assisting in the strategic growth plan and initial implementation of Elanco’s eCommerce strategy and activation across global markets.

This person will define a clear strategy and roadmap for Elanco’s multi-year eCommerce approach and convert the strategy to actionable outputs to demonstrate business value seen by the organization.   They will assist in the development of priorities for the new eCommerce team and provide sound input and direction to help be the voice of the local markets to the global strategy.


  • Define and set strategy for the e-commerce channel incl business objectives and translate them into strategy and action plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to manage all aspects of the eCommerce business including, business planning, content strategy and development, promotional campaigns and other online marketing, website design, customer service, web analytics, and web technologies
  • Design and execute all features of roadmap to be presented to key stakeholders and interpret all data in coordination with business leaders
  • Work with senior management team to develop eCommerce operational strategy & execute on activities with local market eCommerce leads
  • Global eCommerce lead for priority online retailers including Amazon & Chewy
  • Evaluate and create new routes to market/ models (i.e. 1P, 3P, B2B, B2C)
  • Serve as a cross-functional SME to expand eCommerce globally across the
  • Review & analyze existing eCommerce website positioning and transactions and recommend improvements to enhance customer experience and connection to purchase
  • Develop and scale DTC promotional programs to maximize eCommerce revenue, gaining qualified traffic via digital marketing
  • Design and prepare sales dashboard and reports for eCommerce metrics to be shared and optimized across the business with executive leaders and retail teams
  • Provide status updates on eCommerce projects to key stakeholders and management team.
  • Analyze and report on eCommerce business KPIs including the performance of promotional and operational programs
  • Conduct ongoing competitive and benchmark analyses

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing/business leadership role in consumer facing and/or B2B industry

  • 5+ years of experience in experience in both strategy and execution of digital marketing &/or eCommerce

  • Direct ecommerce experience, in past year working for Fortune 500 company (preferably for direct to customer industry)

  • 3+ year of people management

  • Experience in Digital Transformation

Additional Skills & Preferences:

  • Robust understanding of the eCommerce business, its operational programs, and go-to-market strategies

  • Expertise in working with eCommerce customers including Amazon and other online retailers

  • Preferable experience in 2+ industries: Pharma, Healthcare, CPG, Retail

  • Results-oriented, entrepreneurially minded, and motivated; no obstacle too big mindset with a dedication to quality

  • Solid strategic thinking and ideation – ability to connect dots of Ecommerce across billion-dollar business

  • Strong Communication Skills

  • Expertise in Amazon retail management & eCommerce development

  • This role can be located anywhere in the US with the ability to travel to Elanco’s corporate headquarters in Greenfield, IN, as needed.
