The Global Logistics FBA Consultant serves as the primary coordinator and responsible person for:

  • Leverage the use of current information and tools to improve Global Logistics end to end visibility with the objective to identify opportunities for Logistics costs improvements in the Freight Bill Audit program
  • To leverage 3rd party suppliers to facilitate our end to end supply chain understanding and spend management by having full accountability on Global Logistics spend performance reporting and root cause analysis by Affiliate and Region
  • Support Business cases and accountability for aligning savings vs return on investments
  • Define and agree on RACI and processes with internal stakeholders to ensure logistics spend is booked in SAP correctly and in a consistent way
  • Define and agree aligned templates to gather data from LSP’s
  • Periodically assemble data from available tools and from LSP’s to report Global Logistics key metrics related to spend and service
  • Deep dive data analysis to identify opportunities for improvements

The position needs to build strong relationships with and assure efficient interactions between Logistics Service Providers (LSP’s) and internal Elanco functions such as; supply chain, IT, procurement, manufacturing, finance, quality, order to cash, shared service centers and affiliates/country business leaders.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Leverage understanding of how IT tools are used by the business and how these tools interact to influence the business to provide direction and support the decision making process within Global Logistics
  • Partner with IT, COE, LCCI, Regional Distribution Leaders, Regional Supply Chain Leaders and Affiliates to provide an optimal visibility & connectivity model with External partners (Freight Forwarders, Brokers, Warehouse and Transport LSPs, CM’s) allowing to track and measure main performance KPI’s
  • Understand at a detailed level the core outbound logistics business processes across O2C, inventory and quality management, as well as the usage of our current and future state technology to enable them, looking for opportunities to improve the use of information though advanced analytics and increased visibility.
  • Create & manage Global Logistics SOP’s required to provide a long term sustainable Cost Data Visibility and Management process with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure best practices implementation for business-to-business collaboration from a Logistics perspective with the V&C, ESC’s, Procurement and IT.
  • Actively search for new and effective tools and trends to improve and automate data gathering and data analysis process for Global Logistics.
  • Benchmark industry standards and metrics to support Elanco strategic goals and objectives

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years working in a relevant Freight Bill Audit program capacity
  • Demonstrated learning agility, flexibility, ability to focus and prioritize.
  • Strong understanding of broad business processes in Supply Chain
  • Ability to influence others to adopt different point of view or concept
  • Knowledge of Distribution processes and of optimal transport flows
  • Knowledge of the applications and other IT tools within the Logistics area
  • Understanding of current state and future direction for the Global Logistics area and the enterprise
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Excellent initiative and self-management skills as well as ability to lead teams, influence other and manage conflict.
  • Demonstrated multi-functional project management skills (Finance, Q, IT, SC, Manuf.)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written & presentation skills)
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with manufacturing and supply chain operations
  • Business knowledge and ability to develop logistics strategies

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent by experience
