Finance Analyst – North American Credit Accounting/Controls/Reporting

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Analyst – North American Credit Accounting/Controls/Reporting. This individual will provide professional financial analysis, controllership skills and accounting support for PHI Financial Services, Inc and PHI Financial Services Canada Limited. May provide any or all the following activities: record and monitor actual results of financial data against prior year actual results, budgets, plans, or outlooks; provide support for the development of financial plans, budgets, and outlooks; provide analysis to support business decisions. Help to ensure that controls are in place and monitored and perform any reporting needs. Ensure responsibilities are performed in compliance with all appropriate guidelines, regulations, and professional standards.

Responsibilities – How will you help us grow?

  • Provide day-to-day monitoring of customer loan accounting within the North American seed business and other activity. Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
    • Investigation and resolution of unprocessed transactions.
    • Provide support for complex transaction questions (Credit/Sales Support).
    • Identifying and troubleshooting loan accounting system (IT) issues.
  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual actual loan financial results in order to ensure accuracy of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, etc.) – providing analysis against financial results to identify problems or issues and recommend ways to resolve problem areas.
  • Ensure adequate controls are in place with the regional seed brands and monitor these for compliance.
  • Define and support process improvement initiatives using process improvement tools / methodology.
  • Ensure internal and external financial controls are incorporated in work products, including Sarbanes-Oxley testing and compliance efforts.

Problem Solving

  • Must have the ability to explore and determine reasons for system/procedure inconsistency that creates unprocessed transactions.  Failure to correct quickly could lead to customer complaints and/or loss of revenue to the company.
  • Must also have a complete understanding of R3, Connex, and bank problems as they arise. It is critical the problems are identified and resolved within a short period of time.

Decision Making

  • Routinely determine the best approach to correct processing errors to ensure the accuracy of customer balances, while also identifying and incorporating procedures to minimize the likelihood of these errors resurfacing in the future.
  • Due to the complexity of R3 and the connectivity to other systems many factors need to be taken into consideration – through collaboration with IT – to properly identify the source of the error and put a remediation plan into place.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related area. Relevant work experience can be substituted.

Experience

  • Problem solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft products.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • R3/SAP experience a plus
