Position Description

We are seeking a talented Director of Project Engineering to join Elanco’s Clinton Manufacturing site in Clinton, Indiana. This role has the responsibility to provide oversight, leadership, and development of a team of project engineers that deliver a portfolio of capital projects in support of growth and recapitalization of Elanco’s largest manufacturing site in North America.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Participate as a member of the site engineering team
  • Ensure HSE/PSM are an integral part of facility design and project execution
  • Coach, lead, and develop team members
  • Drive continuous improvement within the Project Engineering team

Functional Excellence

  • Ensuring business processes are in place for planning, execution and monitoring of site executed capital projects
  • Own and oversee the site capital planning process including portfolio management, cash flow forecasts, and recapitalization profile
  • Own the efficiency and effectiveness of the capital delivery process from project approval through commissioning and qualification
  • Develop and maintain a forward-looking site master plan
  • Represent site performance to corporate Finance and Engineering functions
  • Manage departmental budget and business plan including headcount, overtime, and departmental expenses
  • Manage the site alliance contractor
  • Collaborate with contractor leaders to ensure the safety of the site’s contract work force

Basic Minimum Qualifications

  • BS Engineering and 5 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to influence individuals and teams
  • Knowledge of estimating facility construction costs
  • Knowledge of scheduling design and construction activities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation Skills and influence
  • Proven experience working with alliance contractors

Additional Preferences

  • Proficient with SAP
  • PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficient with Veeva
  • Experience in project controls including scope, cost, scheduling, and safety
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Prior supervisory experience
