ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:
The Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) was formed in 1999 to bring together the chief executives of Central Indiana’s prominent corporations, foundations and universities in a strategic and collaborative effort dedicated to the region’s continued prosperity and growth. CICP is nationally known as a leader in networked governance and corporate, academic and philanthropic collaborations. Its mission is to “transform the economy of Indiana to create a more sustainable prosperity and quality of life for our citizens and future generations.” The group creates long-term strategies, research and programs for regional growth and concentrates on issues such as talent, workforce development, the innovation economy, quality of place, and access to capital.
The organization is focused on Indiana’s key advanced industries as well as workforce and talent, housing four sector initiatives designed to fill gaps and pursue strengths through a relentless focus on driving talent and investment to these “verticals”: AgriNovus Indiana, for agbiosciences; BioCrossroads, for life sciences; Conexus Indiana, for advanced manufacturing and logistics; and TechPoint for tech and tech-enabled companies. Ascend Indiana addresses workforce development and talent needs across all of the sectors and others. In addition, the organization is working across its initiatives on cross-collaborative projects including innovation, entrepreneurship, equity and communications to strengthen its market knowledge and impact Indiana’s economy.
JOB OVERVIEW:
In this newly-created position, the Director of Communications Content and Programming will manage external communications and programming that brings together the advanced industries that CICP represents, providing public education and awareness to targeted audiences. The ideal candidate should have significant public relations, content planning and implementation experience, across a variety of communications vehicles including, media, website content (written and video), events, etc.  In addition, this position will manage graphics design / digital media to develop social media strategies across CICP and its branded initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will work with communications team from CICP and CICP initiatives on the following under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Communications:
  • Public Education and Awareness – Develops and executes plans and programs to raise public education and awareness to various audiences about the advanced industries that CICP represents; works closely with CICP Comms team and initiative comms teams to ensure messaging is consistent.
  • Public Relations – Researches, analyzes, and monitors media and other public opportunities for editorial opportunities.  Prepares and distributes press releases as needed; works with media.
  • Research – Works with research team on creating plans to publicize reports and studies; works with graphics designer on infographics and report layouts.
  • Programming Creation – Assists with development of cross-initiative events; coordinates cross-initiative events
  • Team Management – Manages graphics design/digital media.
  • Vendor Management – Manages marketing, creative and services vendors; leverages relationships across CICP platforms with vendors.
  • Initiative Support – Assists and advises related initiatives, as it relates to cross-communications work.
  • Stakeholder Communication – Writes and distributes relevant news and updates to Board members, works with PR teams at stakeholder companies as requested, etc.
  • Other – Performs other duties as requested by the EVP of Communications, President, and/or CEO.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree, 7-12 years directly related marketing or communications experience, preferably in an advanced industries sector.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Responsiveness to deadline demands.
  • Ability to lead complex projects, multi-task and prioritize.
  • Management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess cultural awareness, strong relationship management skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Superior planning, organizational, time management and record-keeping skills with attention to and memory for details.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
