Overview

Position Overview:   This position will work closely with the CN Business Director and CN Support Specialist within the crop nutrient division. This includes managing crop nutrient’s supply and logistics for Keystone facilities, while also coordinating closely with the field on forecasting demand.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Include but not limited to:

  • Supports Keystone Cooperative’s stated Mission, Vision, and Business Values
  • Support Keystone Cooperative’s procurement team’s mission
  • Assist with forecasting of specific crop nutrient product lines
    • Work with the field team about their specific demand and expected supply points
    • Work closely with crop nutrient hub managers on supply & demand through their hubs
  • Assist with supplier forecasting
    • Manage supply cadence where supply agreements are in place
    • Develop relationships with vendor personnel primarily responsible for supply & logistics
  • Assist each location with supply planning
  • Maintain assigned crop nutrient product positions
  • Understand branch capacities
  • Manage CN portal allocation layers and field questions regarding the CN portal
  • Follow basic knowledge of the fertilizer industry
  • Develop & maintain historical crop nutrient pricing database; proficiently be able to extract information out of that database (i.e. create charts)
  • Help manage position reports using internal software to run sales reports; transcribing sales information into position reports and transcribing purchase information into position reports
  • Understand how to develop and maintain load number information for back up situations
  • Understand the process of sending contract information & release numbers for product pick up for back up situations
  • Coordinate & communicate logistic information (rail, truck, & barge); understand how individual locations receive rail information from their rail lines to help trouble shoot when issues arise
  • Track delivered contracts to ensure completion (i.e. status of rail contracts)
  • Understand how to work with Agronomy locations to trouble shoot various issues (including but not limited to:  BOL requests, non-working release numbers, rail car & truck demurrage fees) for back up situations
  • Communicate with Agronomy locations in a timely manner
  • Assist with definition and implementation of digital transition and automation plans.
  • Work in the Indianapolis Corporate Office 3-5 days a week

  • Demonstrate practical skills with sound understanding of site management, staff management and field operations
  • Required overtime as the season demands.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree, in agriculture or related field; or a combination of education and/or experience
