Position Summary: 

Market Research is the prime advocate of customer centricity within organization. The Market Researcher for Pet Health delivers key insights from customers and stakeholders based on primary and secondary market research in order to ensure fact-based decision making.


The Market Researcher for Pet Health has an extensive responsibility for the Pet Health Market research activities. That includes:

  • Advising global functions and affiliates in issues of empirical market research (qualitative and quantitative)

  • Negotiates with, selects and supervises internationally operating market research suppliers and consultants for work on project areas to ensure state-of-the art primary market research studies

  • Evaluates contract suppliers’ work to ensure specifications are met, controls market research costs to assure maintenance within project budget

  • Set up of research designs and coordination and supervision of research process

  • Interpretation of research results, development of recommendations & presentation

  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of professional practices, methodologies and techniques

  • Plans and controls the overall budget of market research to ensure compliance, constantly informs management about the status and develops strategies for an efficient resource allocation.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • At least a Bachelor degree in sociology, social science, statistics, economics or comparable degree.

  • Minimum 5 years of market research experience in animal health, agricultural, pharmaceutical or other fast moving customer goods industries.

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco Animal Health does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this position.

Additional Skills & Preferences:

  • International market research project management experience

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to derive recommendations from findings, including strong understanding of local specificities and global core values Insert 3-5 additional skills/preferences in bullet point format

  • Results-oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivating personality

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and work independently as required

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with senior management to understand needs and present findings and recommendations

  • Proficiency in a range of quantitative and qualitative primary market research techniques for strategic and tactical market research – incl. Sample Drawing, Methodology, Multivariate Analyses, Conjoint Analysis

  • This position can be located in Greenfield (IN) or Shawnee Mission/Kansas City(KS) is a possible location


  • After the global CoVid-19 pandemic the amount of travel is still to be determined. At current state 25% of travel should be assumed (US centric)
