Position Summary:

The Category Strategy Manager is a vital position at Elanco, dedicated to bolstering our Retail impact through exceptional networking, collaboration, data analytics, and process development. This role will spearhead our internal category management initiatives, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives and fostering growth across our product categories. The Category Strategy Manager will work cross-functionally, utilizing their analytical acumen to derive insights from data and implementing efficient processes to support the business and drive category excellence.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Category Management: Develop and execute category strategies that align with overall brand and business objectives, driving growth and market share.
  • Collaborative Networking: Build and maintain strong relationships within the organization and with external partners to ensure effective category management.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data analytics to generate actionable insights, guiding decision-making and strategy development for category growth.
  • Process Optimization: Create and implement efficient processes that support the category management function and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with Brand Teams and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment of category strategies with brand objectives and initiatives.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, informing strategic planning for category development.
  • Educational Initiatives: Foster a culture of continuous learning, sharing best practices and insights with the Brand Teams and broader organization.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Proven Category Management Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in category management, with a track record of successful category growth and strategy implementation.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborative and Network-Savvy: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across various functions and levels within the organization.
  • Process-Driven: Experience in developing and implementing efficient business processes to support category management activities.
