Corteva Agriscience is looking for a motivated Capital Markets Consultant. This is a senior level position with a very specialized background. The Capital Markets Consultant will work to assess the balance sheet and corporate cash flow to determine the best plan of action for capital structure (e.g., refinancing, raising debt/equity). As someone with strong financial acumen and the ability to turn numbers into insights, you will be a pivotal team member expected to help maximize shareholder value through shareholder remuneration analysis. The consultant will play a central role in global capital markets activities, including managing credit facilities, short term investments, optimizing commercial paper and other tools to financing working capital, supporting the structuring and execution of new financing transactions, interest rate management and assessing other financing initiatives including lease vs buy analysis, customer and supplier financing. The consultant will be an effective communicator who can interface with senior leadership, banking partners, debt investors, rating agencies and other service providers. Finally, a successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrated aptitude for modeling.
Primary Responsibilities – How will you help us Grow?
- Create accurate, well-structured financial models for corporate credit, securitization, and term debt transactions.
- Review comparable borrowers and assess appropriate new issue pricing indication producing models to assess impact of different debt scenarios.
- Execute bond, loan, and liability management transactions, including preparing due diligence and documentation materials to support new financings.
- Collaborate with business units to assess lease vs buy analysis as well as customer financing product offerings.
Qualifications
Education & Experience – What you’ll bring to the table!
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or similar.
- CFA highly preferred. Will consider someone who has passed 1 or 2 CFA exams.
- 7+ years of experience in Treasury or investment banking.
- Deep experience in structuring debt offerings.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of cash flows, cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and financing tools.
- Experience creating financial models within a corporate finance setting.
- Nice to have knowledge of ag market conditions, business cycles and other external factors that may impact company performance.
- Curious with strong quantitative and writing skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint with a working knowledge of Bloomberg.
