This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Manufacturing Plant in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

 

Scope:

The CAPEX Project Manager will lead the team that develops and manages the overall Capital Plan and sets the standards for flawless project execution. Projects will involve major upgrades to manufacturing plant, facilities and production lines, with project values up to $15,000,000+. Focus is capital investments to support new businesses, maximize plant productivity/reliability, and reduce cost, while meeting company, industry and regulatory standards for food safety, health, and environmental sustainability.

 

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management and strategic direction of the Project Management group.
  • Define, propose, and monitor the implementation of the company’s capital plans and objectives including the development and deployment of the Company’s Capital Project Management Standards.
  • Manage the engineering budget and capital investment plans and related capital investment expenditures.
  • Ensure the engineering department operates with clear and open communications.
  • Train, develop and mentor engineering and technical employees to ensure future growth objectives can be accomplished
  • Promote continuous improvement, networking and sharing of information.
  • Implement work processes, procedures and technical resources related to engineering and technical services.
  • Protect proprietary technology through approved and certified relationships with third parties.
  • Identify and recommend new technologies that improve the overall operations.
  • Responsible for the selection, modification, and installation of all equipment in the plants, corporate offices and property/grounds.
  • Key contributor when evaluating potential acquisitions, expansions and new technology introductions to the company.
  • Manage all outsourced contractors as needed
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering required, Advanced degree (MBA) is a plus
  • 15+ years of progressive and diversified Engineering Management experience required
  • Strong understanding of Project Management and Tracking software/tools
  • Significant experience installing new lines/equipment and/or new plant start-up.
  • Experience with high speed packaging equipment.
  • Experience working in a Food & Beverage environment
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Budget management experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to coach, lead and direct engineering staff
  • Solid computer skills; Microsoft Office and CAD programs Prior aseptic and maintenance management experience a plus

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
  • Must possess visual acuity to document company records
  • Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center.
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds
