Overview

The National FFA is seeking applications from qualified individuals interested in an internship at the National FFA Center in Indianapolis,IN. The position will start July 12 and end November 12.

The Awards and Recognition team is looking for an intern to assist with logistics of the planning and implementation process for national award and competitive event programs (Agriscience Fair, American Star, National Chapter, Agricultural Proficiency Award and Career & Leadership Development Events),  with the primary focus on the Career & Leadership Development Events (CDE/LDE) for the National FFA Convention & Expo. The National FFA Convention & Expo will take place in Indianapolis, IN October 27 – October 30, 2021.

In addition to assisting with all award programs, the intern will assist the CDE/LDE team to prepare convention materials, finalize travel arrangements, organize portfolios/manuscripts, and communicate with event superintendents. Exceptional organization and time management skills are critical for this position as well as experience with Zoom and Google Classroom, preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist all award and competitive event programs with judging processes and convention preparations in both a virtual and in-person formats
  • Gather, print and prepare portfolios/manuscripts/links from national finalists
  • Assist in compiling and maintaining all CDE/LDE committee member travel information including hotel rooming lists, parking, shuttles, rental vehicles, etc.
  • Assist with building, inviting and monitoring of Zoom event calls
  • Build, organize, and manage event google classrooms.
  • Manage CDE/LDE courier schedule and delivery checklist as well as oversee onsite management of courier deliveries
  • Assist with schedule management, convention app, website and communications
  • Coordination of 25 events and their set up, food & beverage and audio/visual details
  • Participate in pre-convention venue meetings
  • Communicate with event superintendents and volunteers
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 EDUCATION:

Currently enrolled or recent graduate in post-secondary studies. Areas of preferred study include Tourism, Hospitality, Convention, Meeting, Special Event Planning, Agricultural programs, or Ag Education.

 EXPERIENCE:

Previous experiences in event planning & logistics is a plus. Knowledge of the National FFA Organization and awards and competitive event programs, specifically Career and Leadership Development Events is helpful.
