The Associate Manager of Nutrition and Science Communications is a Marketing professional who is passionate about supporting our Splenda® brand mission: To help people live happier, healthier and longer lives by making it easier to reduce sugar. The Splenda Brand is currently the leader within the sweetener category with strong brand awareness, market share leadership and a growing consumer base that use Splenda every day.  Our Splenda Brand portfolio is rapidly growing beyond sweetener packets, pouches and jars to include additional zero sugar products lines; including Splenda Diabetes Care Shakes, Splenda Creamers, Splenda Syrups, and more.   These new innovative product lines further enable consumers to love what they eat & drink without excess calories or added sugars.

Healthcare professionals (HCPs), including Primary Care Providers, Registered Dietitians, Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and others, are the #1 motivator for consumers to adopt zero calorie sweeteners and are therefore a priority audience for our Splenda Brand Communications.

The person in this role is responsible for (1.) creating marketing and educational communications to motivate HCPs to make branded Splenda recommendations to patients, (2.) supporting and expanding partnerships the Splenda brand has with key organizations, (3.) leading promotional marketing plans to grow HCP recommendations such as Splenda participation at in-person conferences, email and print marketing, etc.

The Associate Manager of Nutrition and Science Communications will partner with a broad range of internal business partners in Marketing and non-Marketing functions, will work directly with a broad set of experienced vendors who support our Splenda brand, and will engage significantly with important health associations such as the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES), Today’s Dietitian, American Association of Family Practitioners (AAFP), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Diabetes Association (ADA), Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Children with Diabetes (CWD), and more.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement marketing and educational content for HCPs to support direct HCP messaging, Splenda HCP Sample Toolkit program, conference communications & implementation, emails to HCPs, and Splenda HCP website communications & creative
  • Develop Splenda HCP Sample Toolkit – coordinate with internal colleagues to order and transfer Splenda free sample products to fulfillment vendor, partner with fulfillment vendor and Design agency to create Splenda Sample Toolkit educational materials and toolkit
  • Gain HCP attendance of free educational presentations by defining promotional media tactics and developing marketing communications
  • Engage and partner with professional organizations to exhibit and deliver educational presentations and continuing education to HCPs at conferences, and lead development of Splenda campaign content communicated to HCPs
  • Owns development of communications and creative content implementation on Splenda.com HCP website
  • Lead development and implementation of HCP metrics scorecard through CRM SFDC
  • Support Consumer health messaging development to ensure scientific accuracy and proper representation of diabetes disease state & obesity/overweight education; consumer website content, Stafford FAQs, Blogs, messaging for campaign communications
  • Champion internal education related to health, nutrition and dietetics, and diabetes
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA degree

  • Time and project management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to independently use MS Excel, Power Point, Genesis, and learn new software programs
  • 1-3 years previous experience, ideally with healthcare and/or CPG products background
  • Position is based at Heartland Corporate Headquarters in Carmel, IN on the north side of Indianapolis.
  • Occasional business travel required as often as monthly

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and interact with computers, telephone and other electronic media
  • Must possess visual acuity to document company records
  • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
