Corteva is seeking to hire an intern to contribute to our sustainability goals by developing methods for energy and gas flux quantification to study greenhouse gas emission and carbon sequestration in the field. As an intern you will be expected to work with a multidisciplinary team to advance our research organization’s efforts to better understand and measure trace gas emissions for a range of agronomically managed fields using innovative techniques and sensors.

Responsibilities – What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and contribute to data collection in the field
  • Aid in the design and execution of experiments for quantifying trace gas emission for multiple crops
  • Contribute to the design of data collection systems to quantify trace gas emission using open-source hardware and off the shelf sensors
  • Process and analyze collected data
  • Quickly identify issues, propose solutions, and lead implementation of identified improvements
  • Share research findings internally through presentations and scientific meetings
  • Promote a safe and professional working environment while maintaining commitment to Corteva’s core values


Qualifications – What You’ll Bring:

  • Enrollment in a masters or doctoral degree program in plant sciences, data science, statistics, mechanical or chemical engineering, or a related field
  • Excellent problem-solving skills using creative approaches
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional science teams and business partners
  • Experience in working with open-source microcontroller hardware
  • Demonstrated abilities in self-motivation and challenging assumptions
  • Knowledge of experimental design and hypothesis testing
