Responsible for the short term detailed schedule and the mid to long term capacity balanced production plan for assigned work-centers. The Planner will work to achieve the corporate goals of customer service levels, inventory targets, back order minimization, continuous supply of our products and minimized outdated inventory. This position will be responsible for managing supply for both US and International demand for in-house produced Vaccines. The candidate will routinely interface with fellow Planners, Production Execution, Quality Management, Inbound/Outbound Logistics, TPM, Manufacturing Management, CMOs, and other business partners.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in supply chain, economics, computer science, business admin. or related field with a minimum of 2 years’ supply chain planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing or similar environment. In addition, experience must be inclusive of a minimum of 2 years ERP systems knowledge and/or advance planning knowledge and how it relates to an ERP System. .
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Must possess strong data entry and typing skills.
  • Basic understanding of CGMP production guidelines is required for this position.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • APICS certification preferred, but not required.
  • This position requires proficiency in business and technical knowledge, customer advocacy, communication, delivering results, problem solving, quality orientation, teamwork and knowledge of regulatory requirements. In addition incumbent must demonstrate strong analytical thinking, business acumen and negotiation skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing weekly and monthly finite schedules per assigned work-centers or forecasts.
  • Ensure finite schedule is handed over to PE and QM in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for communicating with manufacturing management and PE floor personnel as well as external partners concerning daily production issues that affect the completion of the schedule.
  • Planner and Production Team Leaders / CMO must consistently communicate so that requirements in the schedule are fulfilled on the production floor.
  • Provide support for inventory analysis of distressed, obsolete and rejected inventory.
  • Ensure management receives inventory information and appropriate actions are taken to mitigate financial loss.
  • Responsible for assuring that all related dependent raw material and components are available and QM Released prior to the handing-off of process orders to PE.
  • Ensure that we do not have process orders released or POs issued without the components being ready and available for use.
  • Calculate, assign, and maintain the appropriate level of safety stock for assigned items.
  • Take into consideration sales level (A, B, C), lead time, manufacturing issues and batch sizes.
  • Responsible for coordination and planning of non-commercial demand (PD batches) and planning for new product launches.
  • Ensure non-commercial demand is properly planned for and accounted for while planning capacity utilization. Communicate with Launch Coordinator to schedule production to meet product launch time lines.
  • Responsible for supporting senior management in strategic planning and decision making.
  • Ensure information is developed, analyzed, and summarized to support senior management decision making as needed.
  • Support budget planning processes by providing various capacity constrained planning scenarios as needed for the mid to long term range- 1 to 5 years.
  • Support Finance and Senior Management by providing long term capacity constrained scenarios to support future business strategies.
  • Create and update Production Versions/Recipes/BOMs for assigned materials in conjunction with MDM, PE, and QM.
  • Ensure data is consistent with approved batch records and inspection plans. Ensure proper configuration for planning in SAP and OMP+.
  • Maintain MRP (material master data) for assigned materials utilizing the MDM process.
  • Process assigned tasks on the To-Do list in SAP Portal by the due dates. Ensure MRP master data is accurate for optimal planning and scheduling.

Management & Economic Magnitude:

  • Interfaces with PE, QM, IL/OL, Finance, Regulatory, Demand Planning, Global Supply, Senior Management and Contract Customers.
