Job Description:
As a Customer Account Success Manager at Athian, you will be instrumental in driving the success and satisfaction of our customers – consumer packaged goods (CPGs), foodservice, retailers, quick service restaurants (QSRs), and food companies seeking to decrease their Scope 3 emissions related to animal protein products in their supply chain. You will support these groups to fully leverage Athian’s Sustainability Platform to reduce emissions, participate in carbon markets, and achieve their sustainability goals. You will work cross-functionally with our product, sales, and support teams to deliver a seamless experience from onboarding customers to relationship management with producers and cooperatives, through ongoing platform engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Account Management and Tracking: Support with onboarding new customers, tracking and reporting of customer status in their journey with us – using Hubspot (or other systems) to track key contacts, relationships, document status, feedback, and decisions so that we can most effectively advance to transactions.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain long-term relationships with sustainability teams at a variety of food companies and both in the U.S. and internationally, and dairy cooperatives, providing personalized support and acting as a trusted advisor for tactical use of the Athian Sustainability Platform.
- Product Training: Provide training and technical support to customers, ensuring they understand how to use the platform’s features and can maximize the value of their participation in carbon markets.
- Sustainability Planning: Collaborate with customers to develop strategic sustainability plans to support their carbon reduction strategies, carbon accounting approaches, and reporting processes.
- Customer Advocacy: Act as the voice of the customer within Athian, collaborating with product, marketing, and engineering teams to advocate for enhancements and new features that improve the customer experience.
- Proactive Support: Identify new or at-risk customers and develop strategies to engage, retain, or re-engage them, addressing any challenges they face with the platform.
- Case Studies & Testimonials: Partner with customers to tell their story; develop case studies and testimonials showcasing their success and commitment to sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Passion for animal ag sustainability and a genuine interest in supporting various sized food companies, along with farmers and livestock producers in their sustainability journey.
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in corporate ESG / CSR / sustainability, customer success, account management, or a related role, ideally within ag-tech, sustainability, or SaaS industries.
- Knowledge of the dairy industry and sustainable agricultural practices is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and manage relationships across a diverse range of customer, producer, and cooperative stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solver with a customer-first mindset, able to manage multiple accounts and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with HubSpot, account management, and sales legal contract review process a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in agriculture carbon markets, or environmental sustainability.
- Experience with corporate food companies’ sustainability teams either domestically and/or globally
- Knowledge of additional livestock farming systems and practices, with a focus on environmental impact reduction strategies.
- Ability to translate complex sustainability concepts into actionable steps for customers.

- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. The base salary range for this role is $85,000 – $95,000 per year with 20% bonus potential.
