Overview

Position Summary:

  • Oversees and directs daily activities of P&C Business Systems assignments and employees in order to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Acts as liaison between business clients, business analysts, product owners, and technical staff.
  • Provides overall business direction over various P&C systems, projects, applications, and workflows.
  • Collects evaluates and analyzes information in order to provide observations and recommendations.
  • Responsible for maintaining costs and expenses within budgetary guidelines.

 

Knowledge and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related position.
  • Five years’ experience in P&C Insurance practices. Supervisory skills acquired through formal academic training and/or extensive, quantifiable career experience preferred.
  • Experience managing projects requiring business and technology resources
  • Knowledge of major business applications, workflows, and systems.
  • Willingness to maintain or continue advanced education and/or specialized professional training, i.e. CPCU®, PMP®, Agile practitioner, or industry-specific seminars.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and capability through prior team or project work.
  • Demonstrated ability for effective conflict management.
  • Ability to monitor, coach, and measure employee work performance.
  • Demonstrated success working under pressure, meeting strict deadlines, and prioritizing work across multiple projects.
  • Initiative and judgment in making decisions within the scope of assigned authority; and the ability to substantiate these decisions.
  • Must be able to effectively utilize computer systems required for essential job functions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate status and other updates to executives, peers and team members
  • Coach and mentor product owners and business analysts including providing guidance and direction on problems and issues.
