Indiana Farm Bureau, the state’s largest general farm organization with more than 250,000 members, has provided services and programs to its members since 1919. As a member organization, Indiana Farm Bureau works to be an effective advocate for farmers and, through its policies and programs, promote agriculture and improve the economic and social welfare of member families.

The Leadership Development Coordinator for Indiana Farm Bureau will be responsible for the facilitation of the statewide young farmer and ag professionals program and engagement of this group in the organization as well as coordinating professional and leadership development opportunities. This position will focus on engaging the young farmer and ag professional segment of the membership throughout the organization, with particular emphasis on engagement and support of county and district programming. This position will also work across teams to enhance and develop leaders within our county farm bureaus. Collaboration with small groups of peers as well as small to large groups of members will be necessary.

 

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Engage Young Farmers and Ag Professionals (YF&AP) in the organization by leading committee programming, planning, development, and orientation.
  • Coordinating (YF&AP) competitions and awards.
  • Support county and district programming for (YF&AP).
  • Plan and implement the (YF&AP) Leadership Conference.
  • Facilitating state leadership programing including, Leadership, Education, Action, and Development (LEAD), advocacy days, and youth program leadership activities.

 

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Three years’ experience and knowledge of agriculture.
  • Experience working with adult learners.
  • The ability to provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to team members.
  • The ability to provide leadership, guidance, mentoring, and training to members using diverse training techniques.
  • The capacity to speak in front of large groups.
  • Proven success in working under minimal supervision, prioritizing assignments, and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective presentation skills.
