POSITION SUMMARY:

The Crop Portfolio Manager is responsible for product portfolio management and execution of key activities related to product management in soybeans, sorghum, and alfalfa. The ideal candidate will be located within the Midwest.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategically guide the implementation and execution of AgReliant’s soybean, sorghum, and alfalfa product portfolio strategies
  • Identify market trends and make collaborate with Brand Product Managers on market needs evaluations for AgReliant’s U.S. brands in soy, sorghum, and alfalfa
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to build, improve, and maintain data analytics capabilities around soybeans and regional crops
  • Develop precommercial technical product data for soybeans and regional crops to support launch effectiveness and sales success
  • Organize team coverage for and participate in precommercial product evaluations for soybeans, sorghum, and alfalfa
  • Collaborate with AgReliant’s agronomy team to schedule trainings and tours with AgReliant’s strategic partners
  • Collaborate closely with the Pricing & Licensing team on evaluation, execution, and support of agreements with AgReliant’s strategic partners in soybean and regional crops
  • Collaborate with the Soybean Supply Chain Manager and Capacity Planning Analyst to ensure proper supply planning for soybeans and regional crops
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, customer service, and professionalism; promote a positive image of AgReliant Genetics
  • Be able to work under tight deadlines and complete work on time in a quality manner
  • Participate in Product Strategy Team meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural related field; MBA or MS preferred
  • 7+ years’ Commercial Product experience preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use job-related software and technical programs, including Microsoft Office products
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Strong financial and budgeting skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong knowledge of seed industry trends

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work required hours
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Must have valid driver’s license and meet MVR guidelines
  • Some overnight travel required up to 25%
